a vision taking form
The Foundation of a Vision
Since announcing our new flagship store this spring, the vision for the next chapter of Young Jewelers has continued to take shape. Each decision has been made with intention: to honor the nearly 80-year legacy of Young Jewelers, remain true to the architectural character of downtown Jasper, and create an elevated experience for the community we are proud to call home.
In April, Young Jewelers retained Thompson Architecture of Birmingham, Alabama, marking the beginning of the architectural design process. Preliminary renderings followed in May, bringing the future flagship to life. In June, we reached another milestone by securing Rives Construction as the general contractor for the project. At this stage, our engineering team has also been confirmed, bringing together the professionals who will help move the project steadily toward construction.
A Look Within
The new two-story flagship at 395 19th Street West will offer dedicated spaces for the many ways our clients shop, celebrate, and create with Young Jewelers.
The first level will feature a custom design studio devoted to bringing one-of-a-kind pieces to life, along with a private bridal boutique designed for engagement ring and wedding band appointments.
Upstairs, the mezzanine level will be home to our expanded bridal registry and curated gift collection. It will also carry forward a beloved Young Jewelers tradition of more than 50 years: our “In the Window” bridal registrants. The mezzanine has been designed to invite clients to browse, gather, and enjoy a relaxed experience throughout their time in the store.
Rooted in Downtown Jasper
While the flagship represents a new chapter for Young Jewelers, it has been thoughtfully designed to belong in downtown Jasper. Its architecture will complement the character of the city while creating a distinctly elevated experience within it.
Preparation continues as we work toward a projected groundbreaking in November of 2026.
We are proud to build this next chapter at home in Jasper. Follow along as we share new details and progress in each edition of Behind the Build.

Press Release
Young Jewelers Announces New Flagship Store - A Vision for the Future
Young Jewelers, a multifaceted jewelry business rooted in a long family legacy since 1948, is honored to announce plans for a new two-story flagship location.
The building will be constructed on the lot adjacent to the current Young Jewelers. As the business approaches 80 years in downtown Jasper, second and third generation, owner-operators, Debbie Young Sanders and Iris Jarvis, saw an opportunity to grow while continuing the tradition of trust, craftsmanship, and personal service that has defined Young Jewelers for generations.
This new store is being built to enhance the shopping experience with welcoming spaces for events and celebrations. At its core, Young Jewelers is deeply rooted in its connection to the community, guiding how the business engages, serves, and grows alongside those it calls home. Above all, the goal is to continue serving everyone with the same warmth and care that has defined the store for decades, ensuring that every customer feels equally welcomed and valued the moment they walk through the door.
“The jewelry industry has continued to evolve in exciting ways over the years through innovation, design, and technology,” said Debbie Young Sanders, President of Young Jewelers. “As Iris and I and our valued team look toward the future, we are proud to honor our heritage while creating a space that allows us to better serve our customers.”
Our project honors the legacy of my parents, Hoyt and Evelyn Young, whose vision, integrity and dedication built the foundation and continues to guide us as we carry the business into its next chapter.
Young Jewelers is grateful for the community’s positive response and honored to share support from local leaders.

“Young Jewelers is one of the anchors of downtown Jasper. Since 1948, it has been more than just a store, it has been like a member of the family, helping us celebrate engagements, weddings, and life’s milestones while creating memories that last for generations. Since moving here, Youngs has become my favorite place for jewelry staples, custom designs, and my ever-growing “wish list.” They beautifully combine tradition with modern innovation and style. Expansions like this show what happens when a business truly believes in its community and continues to invest in it. I’m excited to see the continued excellence and the kind of long-term commitment that keeps both Young Jewelers and Jasper strong.”

“This investment reflects The Young brand and the continued belief in the future of the community we have proudly served for generations,” said Iris Jarvis Vice President of Young Jewelers. “We have never based our vision on population size, but on the caliber of the people and the strength of the community around us.”
