 Young Jewelers was founded in 1948 by Hoyt Young in downtown Jasper. After serving in World War II, he used the GI Bill to gain expertise and graduated from the Southern College of Watch Making in Memphis, Tennessee. He then established his small jewelry business which has now grown into the premier diamond, jewelry and gift center in northwest Alabama. He is certified in diamonds with the Gemological Institute of America, served as the President of the Alabama Jewelers Association, and has also served with Jewelers of America. Young Jewelers is family owned and operated. Evelyn Young joined the business fulltime as a bookkeeper and Registered Bridal Consultant in the 1960’s. After graduating from the University of Alabama, Debbie Young Sanders came to the business in 1976. She has obtained her Diamond Certificate form the Gemological Institute of America and is a JA Certified Professional.
We believe that service is important and that is why we have assembled a staff of professionals to meet you every need. Aside from our trained staff, we have a full time jewelers with laser certification and award winning custom design skills. In addition, we have a computerized engraving machine which offers logos and special inscriptions of your own.
Young Jewelers’ diamond department is one of the largest in the area. We have loose stones that were personally selected for our inventory. Our major suppliers keep their inventory of thousands of diamonds available on our computers. Our diamond experts grade each stone precisely for carat weight, cut, color and clarity whether certified or non-certified. We have over 110 years of combined experience in the diamond field to make sure you get the best value for your diamond dollar.
Young Jewelers’ fine jewelry includes pearls, colored gemstones, platinum and gold jewelry, designer collections and men’s jewelry styles.
Young Jewelers also has a Crystal and Fine China department. We are known for our Bridal Registry and expert personalized service. Whether selecting your patterns of dinnerware, crystal, flatware or casual entertaining supplies, our Registered Bridal Consultant can guide you in the selections.
Young Jewelers has a large giftware department which covers half of the store. It includes fine collectible porcelains, designer crystal, metalwares, clocks, desk accessories, sterling silver jewelry, jewelry boxes, baby jewelry and accessories, collegiate jewelry, plaques and trophies. Whether it is a graduation, wedding, anniversary or just a special occasion, Young Jewelers has the gift for you! We will distinctively gift wrap your purchase, too.
